Where FreshBooks wins
FreshBooks is a real accounting product. If you need expense tracking, mileage, estimates and proposals, double-entry reports for your accountant, or bookkeeping beyond invoicing, FreshBooks does things Billvate does not do at all. Businesses that want one tool for invoices and books should look at FreshBooks or a dedicated accounting package.
Where Billvate wins
- Price. Every Billvate feature is free with unlimited clients and invoices. FreshBooks starts at $23 a month with a 5-client cap on its entry plan.
- Collections depth on the free plan. Automatic reminders, late fee automation with grace periods and caps, deposits and retainers with payment links, and a client portal, all included without a subscription.
- Simple upgrade math. Billvate Pro is $9 a month and removes our branding and our 1% payment fee. Process more than $900 a month and Pro pays for itself.
